Our goal: We aim to make our website perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for visitors using keyboards, screen readers, zoom tools, voice controls, and other assistive technologies.

1. Our Commitment

Our Home Hands believes that homeowners, renters, landlords, Airbnb hosts, property managers, and service partners should be able to access information and request assistance without unnecessary barriers.

We are working to improve the accessibility and usability of our website, forms, navigation, content, and customer-support experience. Accessibility is an ongoing responsibility, and we expect to continue improving the website as our services and technology develop.

2. Accessibility Standard

Our Home Hands aims to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, where reasonably applicable to our website and digital content.

WCAG is organized around four accessibility principles: content should be perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust. Our use of WCAG as a guide does not mean that every page or feature is currently free from all accessibility barriers.

3. Accessibility Features

Our website is being designed and maintained with features such as:

  • Clear headings, sections, labels, and navigation.
  • Readable text sizing, spacing, and color contrast.
  • Keyboard-accessible links, buttons, forms, and menus where supported.
  • Visible focus indicators for interactive controls.
  • Alternative text for meaningful images when appropriate.
  • Form labels, instructions, and error messages intended to be understandable.
  • Responsive layouts that support phones, tablets, laptops, and larger screens.
  • Compatibility efforts for common screen readers and assistive technologies.
  • Content written in direct, understandable language whenever possible.
  • Reduced dependence on color alone to communicate important information.

4. Ongoing Improvements

We may review pages, forms, images, links, headings, navigation, and interactive components as part of our ongoing accessibility work. Updates may include correcting code structure, improving contrast, adding text alternatives, clarifying instructions, and making keyboard navigation easier.

We may also consider accessibility when selecting WordPress themes, plugins, form tools, scheduling systems, and other third-party technology.

5. Known Limitations

Although we are working to improve accessibility, some areas may not yet provide an ideal experience for every visitor or assistive technology. Possible limitations may include:

  • Older pages or content created before current accessibility improvements.
  • Third-party forms, widgets, maps, scheduling tools, or embedded content.
  • Uploaded documents that may not yet be fully optimized for screen readers.
  • Images or media that may need improved alternative descriptions or captions.
  • Temporary accessibility issues introduced by website or plugin updates.

We welcome reports about specific barriers so that we can investigate and prioritize them.

6. Third-Party Content and Tools

Our website may include links, forms, maps, payment services, scheduling tools, social-media content, or other features provided by third parties. We do not fully control the accessibility of those external products or websites.

We encourage third-party providers to offer accessible experiences. When a third-party feature creates a barrier, please contact us so we can help provide the information or service through another reasonable method when possible.

7. Alternative Assistance

If you cannot use part of the website, submit a form, read a document, or complete a service request because of an accessibility barrier, contact Our Home Hands. We will make a reasonable effort to provide the information, communication, or service through an accessible alternative.

Depending on the request, alternative assistance may include support by email, telephone, text message, or another practical communication method.

8. Accessibility Feedback

Accessibility feedback helps us improve. When reporting a problem, please include as much of the following information as you are comfortable sharing:

  • The webpage address or name of the page where the problem occurred.
  • A description of the accessibility barrier.
  • The task you were trying to complete.
  • The browser, device, or assistive technology you were using.
  • Your preferred way for us to respond.

You are not required to disclose a disability or medical condition in order to report an accessibility concern.

9. Our Response Process

We will review accessibility reports in good faith and respond as reasonably practicable. The time needed to address an issue may depend on its complexity, the technology involved, third-party limitations, and the availability of a suitable fix.

When an immediate technical correction is not possible, we will try to provide a reasonable alternative way to access the relevant information or service.
